Can you talk about what you were accomplishing with this commit? Is it something we should revert on master and reapply after Kevin’s branch is merged?
With a bit more looking, I’m getting the same unit test failure when I build straight from master so it doesn’t actually seem to be related to my pull request.
Failed tests: testHarvestImageMosaicWithDirectory(org.geoserver.catalog.rest.CoverageStoreFileUploadTest): expected:<…-11-01T00:00:00.000Z[,2008-11-02T00:00:00.000Z]> but was:<…-11-01T00:00:00.000Z>

the test failure that Kevin reported should be caused by an older version of the gt-imagemosaic module, so I think Kevin should update the master branch of geotools in order to get the updates for that module. If the test failure continues to exist, I will investigate on it.
Anyway I noticed that the GeoServer Jenkins build is not broken now.

Also verified locally, a full build of geotools and geoserver works fine
here
