[Geoserver-devel] (no subject)

Hi Chris,

If I was not mistaken you were/are interested in a WorldWind demo section
in Geoserver similar to Openlayers demo -
http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/WorldWind+Integration. How is the
openlayers demo structured ? Are the WMS layer based javascripts
dynamically generated by a plugin. With a worldwind demo, I will have to
write an applet with WMS layer parameters being dynamically generated as
applet parameters. I will attempt to start a worldwind-demo plugin in
community modelled after the openlayers demo.

For now need to fix this bil/dds plugin. The code coverage is there in
2.0.x branch. Just the test folders are not added in the pom.xml. I will
force it to include the test folders.

Cheers,

Tisham.

Hey Tisham, sorry for the slow response.

Afaik the javascript previews are dynamically produced, though I don’t know that it’s actually a plugin that does it - we might have built it more core. But I think the worldwind preview should probably start as a dynamic plugin, start in a community module. A ‘3d preview’ that can show up in the GUI beneath the standard ‘layer preview’. Once it gets stable we can see about making it a default. I think we will need to do some usability testing with how it works when a user doesn’t have java installed.

But yeah, I think it’d be really cool to have.

I’d for for a custom map producer at the moment, something like the OpenLayers one, to be stored in its own plugin.
When the plugin is added to GeoSever the WorldWind format should start showing up in the preview page, inside
the down down list with all of the other formats

Cheers
