I'd like to nominate Simone Giannecchini for commit rights to GeoServer.
But wait, you say, doesn't Simone already commit code? Didn't he just add a bunch of killer improvements for fixed palettes?
Well according to our developer list http://xircles.codehaus.org/projects/geoserver/members he's nowhere to be found. Somehow he manages to get his commits in, though an 'svn blame' of the code might point a false finger at one of his colleagues.
His work has obviously been great, I'd just like to get him inducted as an official contributor, so he shows up in the proper places. So we need three +1's and 0 -1's.
thanks,
Chris
+1 from me.

Ops I did it again!
I apologize I did not even remember I never requested my own account. I
guess I was using Alessio's one since long time ago, I bet since the first
rushes with GeoServer back in spring 2005. Bad, bad, bad.
Simone.

PS - I need to arrange commit for myself (though I'm sure I had them but I think they got lost when the repo moved (?) )
Thinking on it, it seems like there might be a case for some "granularity" for commit rights -the following parts of the repo have very different impacts on the code process:
core
community
config
but, since the community is quite small maybe we just need to make sure we follow sane procedures for each.

Looking at the history of the repositories I don't think you ever had commit rights to GeoServer, since all your work was done in GeoTools. If you're wanting GeoServer commit rights I'd be happy to nominate you.

Yeah, I think we're small enough and some of us follow the commit logs closely enough that it's not such a big deal. People tend to stay in the area where they're comfortable, and ask before committing in areas they haven't before. Hasn't ever really been a problem...

Ok, that's three positives and 0 negatives, so it looks like Simone is in.
Simone, do you have an account on xircles.codehaus.org? Just send your user name to Justin or Andrea, and they'll make you a developer.
best regards,
Chris
