[Geoserver-devel] OpenLayers 2.13.1

Hi list,
Just a thought, but is it worth updating the version of OpenLayers that GeoServer ships with? It seems to be 2.8 (Released June 2009).

I realise it’s not a very important component for GeoServer and users can easily upgrade it themselves, but it seems like a simple upgrade - I’ve just dropped in OL 2.13.1 into my own and the layer previews etc all seem to work fine.
Should I open a JIRA for it?

Cheers,
Jonathan

This transmission is intended for the named addressee(s) only and may contain sensitive or protectively marked material up to RESTRICTED and should be handled accordingly. Unless you are the named addressee (or authorised to receive it for the addressee) you may not copy or use it, or disclose it to anyone else. If you have received this transmission in error please notify the sender immediately. All email traffic sent to or from us, including without limitation all GCSX traffic, may be subject to recording and/or monitoring in accordance with relevant legislation.

It is a good idea, I tried upgrading earlier in the year and held off until 2.13 was released. Note that you will need to co-ordinate with the GWC project (and that there is a slight incompatibilty when upgrading so you will need to modify the javascript we produce).

I believe we discussed this on chat some time ago, and Bart was game
helping us upgrade directly
to OpenLayers 3 in January?
