Hi all
We are building a mapping solution that will be underpinned by geoserver. However, clients will have the ability to upload spatial data sets such as csv and shape files into our content management system. The content management system is Oracles UCM(Stellant). We would like these files/layers to appear on the users mapping page. Only those layers that the user has access to would appear as layers on their mapping page. In essence the UCM is just another file system. Has anyone developed a plugin for this type of functionality? What would be the best way to proceed to develop such a plugin?
Any assistance would be much appreciated
Kind regards

Hi David,
You might not need another plugin per se. A pattern that seems to work for people have this same architecture, in which geoserver is the mapping engine behind the scenes and another application or content management system is at the forefront, is to use the geoserver rest configuration api. It allows you to push shapefiles and the like into geoserver via an http interface.
http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/extensions/rest/index.html
Might be something you can use.
