Thanks to everyone who participated in the foss4g sprint! The sprint was successful in creating content for the beta website.

Our vendor, Get Interactive, has completed fixing issues reported. Their final task is producing a report based on community review and feedback.

Please help:

  1. Try out the beta website http://osgeo.getinteractive.nl

Hi Jody,

Not sure if this (geoserver mailing list) is the best way of providing my feedback but here it goes.

I have a played a bit with the GeoServer page \ resources, a few comments:

  • Documentation is pointing to latest, should it not be stable ?
  • The download link points to the stable version but the documentation to the latest, this should be coherent.

In the resources page for GeoServer manual [1] clicking in “VISIT WEBSITE” bring us to the latest documentation,
same comment as above. Clicking in the “DOWNLOAD” button brings a page that just shows GeoServer icon [2].

I see I’m not listed in “members” despite having a login and page in the old web site.
Did I miss some step to migrate my account?

No it is more that SAC is a couple months adrift on the schedule to host this on our own hardware using OSGeo IDs. Indeed because LDAP access was not set up we almost had to cancel the “sprint” session. The vendor relaxed their security for a couple days so the people that were present at the foss4g sprint could create an account and helped fill in the website with enough content to try out the design.

So the moment SAC is hosting we will need to migrate you over.

As you noted we are doing our best to present people, team photo, list of members, etc… in addition to technology. The other important aspect is to note the support providers listed against each project are correct.

I can make those changes, and once the website is migrated to system-admin committee our PSC members should have edit access to maintain this page.

  • aside this was a test page and early on I could not make a resource page without an attachment, hence the mark :slight_smile:

Can I ask you to fill out the feedback survey, since we have someone paid to collect the results and make a report. I hope the report will be used to guide future development and improvements.
