Thanks Alessandro and Andrea for doing this months release!

Need to redo GeoTools, has to point to “maintenance” instead of “stable” (see new build parameter SERIES).

2.14.3 held up Monday by build server not working, restarted today

We have the following pages:

Priority:

  • Boundless → Planet Federal

  • Lisasoft → Jirasoft → maybe nothing (removing from the list?)

  • The Where Group - active as provider, bump down

  • Envitia → no longer supporting GeoServer

I haven’t had a chance to look deeper into the cite-wcs issue; I’ve temporarily disabled the job so it doesn’t bog down jenkins. I’ll try and do some proper debugging when I get a chance, but I’m not sure when that will be.
The GWC website should be updated as of Match 8 - I sent a mail to GWC devel about that a little over a week ago:

I’ve updated www.geowebcache.org with the 1.15.0 release announcement, and any missing docs from this and previous releases (1.9.0 and newer - there was quite a bit missing).
Please try out the links on https://www.geowebcache.org/docs/index.html
You can also see documentation for individual versions at https://www.geowebcache.org/docs//index.html

Note: Because geowebcache.org is now hosted on S3, it may take some time for the updated pages to become visible to everyone, especially those which already exist, such as https://www.geowebcache.org/index.html and https://www.geowebcache.org/docs/index.html (in particular if the root index page looks like the doc index page, that is because I made a mistake when updating - I’ve fixed the error, but the fix may not have shown up yet).
I’ve also update the GWC release guide with the new instructions for updating the website: https://github.com/GeoWebCache/geowebcache/pull/742

Discussion consider a thanks/support page:

  • Recognize sponsors and organizations that contribute, but are not interested in offering support

  • This could capture government or civic organizations that support?

  • Groups like OSGeo:UK…

  • Gaia3D? Perhaps they should be listed here lets ask

  • Let’s make this page when there is need … no need today.

Discussion:

  • Break into two, or three, …

  • TWO: Contributors, Service Providers

  • Approach used by OSGeo page

  • THREE: Core Contributors, Contributors, Service Providers

  • Allows us to promote groups that have contributed a PR successfully on behalf of their customer

  • We are not interested in promoting organizations which profit from geoserver and do not participate

  • Give “value” to activities that keep the project alive: releases, documentation, user list support, stackoverflow support, ticket vetting, monthly bug fix code sprint, yearly sprints

Idea:

  • Core contributors (heavy code contributions but also participating in the other activities)

  • Contributors (anything else listed above)

  • Service Providers (no participation to the community)
    Consider linking to osgeo service provider list

  • Deprecation branch moving on https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/2309

  • Build with -DQA

  • Many introduced with “plans” for folks to fix in their own time …

  • Example styling title and abstract
