Hi,
managed to complete the work started in December 2011 to get a PNG8
output supporting translucency, just committed it on trunk.
The defaults are setup so that you get it automatically the moment you ask
for png8 + transparent output, but if you want to force it also in a opaque image
(in some cases it gives better output) you can use &format_options=quantizer:mediancut
(the new vendor parameter has been added to the documentation)
I’ve tried it out with a number of datasets and with GWC too, seems to be working
as advertised.
