[Geoserver-devel] problem: servlet action is not available

dear all,

i have problems installing the geoserver in a sun application server environment.
deploying the war archive is no problem. but when i start the geoserver with http:…:8080/geoserver the welcome.do is called and i get the message:

"The requested resource (Servlet action is not available) is not available." i've tried to install at three different computers (linux, w2000, xp) but got the same problem everywhere.
has anybody an idea what this can be and can help?

thank you,
mark

Generally if everything is working except that web admin tool it
indicates that the jre is working fine and the jdk is messing up.
These computers have the full jdk, right? That would definitely do it.
But this error message isn't what I would expect. I find it very odd
that you've tried it on three different machines. Maybe build from
source? Or try the binary install? Just to see if you can get it
working at all. Though perhaps there are problems with sun application
server and struts... that's what the action servlet is for. Do you
need to use the sun one? (yes, we should support it, I'll try to
download and test, but my internet connections are spotty these days).

Sorry to not be of more help, this one's kinda stumping me.
