[Geoserver-devel] Proposing Simone for PSC. Discuss/vote?

Hi,
as you know we have a vacant position in the PSC since
Saul left. I've talked with Simone and he's interested
in joining. This would give GeoSolutions two seats in the
PSC, which seems ok to me given that they've provided
significant and continuous contributions to GeoServer
in the past two years.

So I'm proposing him as a new PSC member.
Looking forward to other votes, other proposed/alternative
members, and discussion on the topic.

Cheers
Andrea

I'm definitely +1 on Simone on the PSC. Two seats for GeoSolutions makes a lot of sense to me, to reflect their continued involvement. And it'd be good to get someone in place of Saul.

I am in favour of this one as well.

Earlier this year some Australian's were around asking how they can participate; at that time I recommended that they should look to put one of their developers on the PSC.
Can someone remind me if we have a fixed number of PSC members? Or can the number vary with respect to participation...

Future PSC members:
"A new PSC member can be nominated at any time. Voting for a new PSC is done by current active PSC members. There is no hard limit to the number of PSC members, but we want a relatively active PSC. PSC nominations are generally given in recognition to very significant contributions to the project. Membership is open to non-technical people, for example if someone is to make huge advances to the documentations or marketing of GeoServer, for example."

+1 only if Simone can beat me in a foosball rematch.

+1 from me too. And I have no doubt he could be me at a football match.

+1 for Simone.

Thanks, Jody, for remembering us. I have discussed this with Robert Woodcock, and we are happy to defer our PSC contribution until we are a bit more ready.

Kind regards,
Ben.

So it seems we have a full agreement.
Simone, welcome to the GeoServer PSC
