I'm seeing a lot of local build failures with the above error - can any one
tell me what I'm missing? They don't seem to be affecting travis so I guess
I'm missing something locally.

this is part of new imageio-ext-1.3.3.
GT and GS master should depend on it since yesterday.
Any chance that you have some mixed out of sync jars?
