Hi all,
With GeoTools 8.0-RC1 out (thanks Jody) I am going to move ahead with 2.2-beta2 with the new release scripts. Hopefully all goes smooth. More to come shortly. I hope to start the release within the next few hours. Going to take the current revision of trunk (17099).

Release pretty much completed. Will finish off the announcements, etc… tomorrow but the artifacts are up. It would be great if folks could give them a quick sanity check.
The automated process was pretty smooth, only a few minor hiccups with the release scripts. I am looking forward to someone else trying them out.
Still a few things left to automate such as the creation of the release page on confluence. Confluence like jira has a remote api but our confluence instance doesn’t have it activated at this time due to security reasons. That said we are going to be upgrading confluence soon after which time our sysadmin tells me he is ok with turning the remote api on.
