I’m interested in a couple of projects for GSoC 09:
GeoXACML implementation
REST Configuration Clients
I would like to know a little more of these projects. For example, the skills that are required/strongly needed and the estimated difficult level of both projects. I feel comfortable programming on Java, C, C++, PHP and Python, if required.
I believe Andrea has given the GeoXACML project some thought, so I will
leave discussion of that to him. As for the REST Configuration client,
it seems fairly well covered by the wiki page: http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/REST+Configuration+Clients
Without specific questions, I'm at a bit of a loss to try and provide
more info. Of the languages you mentioned, Python would probably be the
biggest win in providing an API to make the REST service more accessible
to developers.
Feel free to join the IRC channel (irc://irc.freenode.net/GeoServer) if
you have further questions.
