Hi Daniele,
The tomcat version is 6.0.16. Should I still try the solution suggested in the blog?
Thanks for your prompt reply.

Hi Sri,
which tomcat version are you using?
Is it > 6.0.24?
In that case I would suggest to try the fix recommended in 1.
Basically, what I can see from the log is that the geotiff reader asked ImageIO for an ImageInputStreamSpi instance on top of a File and it got an InputStreamImageInputStreamSpi.
However, that spi only deals with InputStream object whilst the source is a File → therefore the exception.
The ideal case would be to get a FileImageInputStreamSpi (being the source a File) and then create a FileImageInputStream stream.
This probably won’t happen because you are encountering the issue reported in that blog post.
Please, let me know if that’s your case.
Best Regards,
Daniele

Hi Andrea,
Enabled the “geotools developer logging” profile yesterday.
Hit the error again today.
Attached are two relevant logs:
- log-with-error.txt - log when error happened.
- log-without-error.txt - log when ingest went through without problem
after restarting tomcat.
We are running 2.1-RC5.
Please let me know if you need more info.
In the mean time, I am thinking of running a previous verion or nightly
build
to see if that elimates the problem. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Current geotools developer setting:
log4j.category.org.geotools.factory=TRACE
log4j.category.org.geotools.renderer=DEBUG
log4j.category.org.geotools.data=TRACE
log4j.category.org.geotools.feature=TRACE
log4j.category.org.geotools.filter=TRACE
log4j.category.org.geotools.factory=TRACE
Should I change all of them to DEBUG?
Just select the “geotools developer logging” profile from the user
interface
Cheers
Andrea
