I am sure this issue has come up before while using the mosaic plugin etc
(which assumes that the background value is 0.0). My particular issue is in
creating aerial imagery layer groups or even mosaics from ECW's.
Though I prefer not to use ECW's, sometimes I have to. ECW is lossy and has
imperfect black. I would like some mechanism to set a range of values near 0
(say 0-10) to transparent either via something in the mosaic plugin or the
rastersymbolizer.
Is there any SLD specification to make this possible ? If not I would like
some pointers for hacking the mosaicplugin. The corresponding issue is: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-3654
