Dear All
We are very much fascinated by the Moxi Media Internet Mapping Framework and would like to develop a similar client application. We also would like to develop a similar framework based on WMS and WFS with MapServer and Geoserver tools.
Can anybody provide the Mapserver and geoserver client application lying in the net can be used as the base and develop further on the same? We are aware of the geoclient however not very much impressed.
Any suggestion or any guidance in this regard shall be highly appreciated. Later I shall share the geoclient and the framework will be shared with other user.
thanks in advance for your support.

Dear All
We are very much fascinated by the Moxi Media Internet Mapping
Framework
and would like to develop a similar client application. We also would
like
to develop a similar framework based on WMS and WFS with MapServer
and
Geoserver tools.
Can anybody provide the Mapserver and geoserver client application
lying
in the net can be used as the base and develop further on the same?
We are
aware of the geoclient however not very much impressed.
Was just replying to your geoclient message, sorry for the late reply,
but I guess you figured out that it doesn't handle shapefiles. Gabriel
Roldan, one of the main geoserver developers, was going to work on a
javascript based geoserver client. See
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-166. He has experience writing a
similar client, so you may get in touch with him and coordinate
efforts. We have not found that much on the net that would form a good
basis, but if the two of you collaborated you could probably pull
something pretty decent together, and give others the chance to build
on top of it. I also might be able to get you another javascript app
that _may_ be opensourced, I just need to pester them a bit more.
I assume you're interested in a lightweight browser based client? Like
in javascript or something? If you're interested in a desktop one the
Refractions team is currently working on uDig -
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/UDIG/Home, which should be great, but
it's still in the early stages of development.
Any suggestion or any guidance in this regard shall be highly
appreciated.
Later I shall share the geoclient and the framework will be shared
with
other user.
That would be great. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I think there
really is not much out there in terms of good open source wms/wfs
clients. If you were to make one I know many, many people who would be
interested, and if you hit the basics right you could probably generate
some good developer interest.
best regards,
Chris
