I think this is because some of the Expression classes have moved to a package called org.geotools.filter.expression on geotools trunk.
It will probably be useful to set up a development environment compiling the geoserver modules against the geotools projects directly to work out all the issues before running the maven build.

Hi Justin,
I am getting the following error, please see dump.txt in the zip. I have included in the Dependancies of wfs the "gt2-main-2.3-SNAPSHOT.jar"
Class WfsKvpRequestReader imports org.geotools.filter.LiteralExpression
At compile-time it still cannot find org.geotools.filter.LiteralExpression
I am missing something?

Hi Justin,
I am trying to do that but my "mvn eclipse:eclipse" does not also produce the required eclipse project file because it tries to download the "org.openplans:geoserver:pom:0.1"
On another note, why does the "org.vfny.geoserver.wfs" module try to download the parent pom when the "org.vfny.geoserver.main" module does not? It looks for "org.openplans:geoserver:pom:0.1" which "org.vfny.geoserver.main" does not.
Regards
Clint

Hi Justin or To whom it may concern,
Can I have version control? It will make it easier for people to look at my work
Regards
Clint

Sounds good clint, i have looked over your work with getting geoserver 1.4.x to maven 2 and I am impressed.
