Checking the latest cite test revisions gives me the following:
version = 2.3-SNAPSHOT
git revision = fdcf1c22516b3ca40b433453eb96a479b30871c9
git branch = fdcf1c22516b3ca40b433453eb96a479b30871c9
build date = 21-Jan-2013 06:03
geotools version = 9-SNAPSHOT
geotools revision = 93f981a04a6cc1e66d90947863f28802136de88e
geowebcache version = 1.4-SNAPSHOT
geowebcache revision = 2c36dddbff394f16dbdc39f216369924e2ef3824/2c36d
Does this mean I should ask for a geowebcache release?

Hum, I guess that for a beta we migth be good to go anyways, but yeah,
at least RC and forward it would be better if we depended on a released version
