[Geoserver-devel] Releasing GeoServer 2.5.5.1 (binaries ready for testing)

Hi,
I’m releasing GeoServer 2.5.5.1 to add a fix for the XXE vulnerability on that
series (got some funding to do that one quickly and just went ahead, did not think
anybody would complain, but if you want to, let me know :wink: ).

The binaries are here:
http://ares.boundlessgeo.com/geoserver/release/2.5.5.1/

If you have time to double check them, it would be of course appreciated.
I plan to push on Sourceforge and tag later in the day

Andrea I have tested these locally and have a DMG ready to upload to SF when you are ready.

I have not had a chance to look at a 2.7.1.1 yet, although I have the notes from our Skype chat yesterday.

I take that back, the bin package is fine and works for me locally, the resulting DMG and GeoServer.app shows up as “You can’t open the application “GeoServer.app” because it is not supported on this type of Mac.”

Searching I can find this reported to stack exchange but not our bug tracker:

I expect a release this old has not been updated to include a JRE - which is work Justin did for 2.6.0.

Aside: An embedded JRE is required to keep GeoServer as an independent app, with that in place we could release GeoServer on the mac app store.

The release is up on SF already. Too bad for the DMG (seen the other mail),
