Hey Rob,
I'm wondering if we should remove the community-schemas modules and sample
configurations from 1.7.x and trunk since that's happening only on 1.6.x. By
doing so what's going on will be clearer when the time to forward port from
1.6.x comes and will reduce the checkout size of 1.7 and trunk now, since
mostly the sample configurations are quite large.

Yes, we will port directly to trunk, and will want to integrate with core wfs and web modules (not a fork). Please remove community-schemas from 1.7.x and trunk as only 1.6.x is maintained.
