I've poked around doing CRS stuff for the "generate BBox" button in the
FeatureType editor (STRUTs configuration stuff).
I used the .properties file EPSG definitions. Unfortunately, this does
NOT have enough information in it do an ellipsoid transformation.
Martin says (see "CRS - Bursa wolf parameters required." in the geotools
devel list) that we need more information that MAY be in the database
version of the EPSG codes.
Unfortunately, this means we need to have an embedded database (hsqldb
probably) inside geoserver (or geotools) to manage the epsg
information.
This is assuming that the ellipsoid xform stuff ("Bursa wolf
parameters") actually is in the epsg database. If its not, then we
need to have an alternative method for doing the xform (ie.
NADCONTransform). Or try to pull code out of PROJ.4.
So, reprojection maybe contrained to be only valid for projections with
the same ellipsoid for a while!!!
