[Geoserver-devel] [REQUEST] build server access for GeoGig team

Hello GeoServer community,

As the Jenkins build jobs for GeoServer have moved (or are in the process of moving) from ARES to build.geoserver.org, I would like to formally request access to the new build server in order to migrate/maintain the GeoServer plugin for GeoGig builds that were on ARES. And, to avoid a single point of contact for these builds, I would like to also request access for the other primary GeoGig developers (copied), as well as myself.

Requests for:
Erik Merkle - emerkle@anonymised.com
Gabriel Roldan - groldan@boundlessgeo.com
David Blasby - dblasby@boundlessgeo.com
JD Garrett - jd@prominentedge.com

Many thanks in advance,

I am a bit more cautious here, for the build box we were leaving access to the GeoServer PSC. Sometimes we extend this to people who have volunteered for make a release, which implies a certain amount if commitment.

For GeoGig who are the PSC members? Can we limit this to a smaller set?

The other thing we can do is ask Nick if your committers can have access for start & view jobs, and limit full job edit ability to GeoGig PSC members (Eric is on the PSC right?)

Jody, I believe Gabriel and JD are both GeoGig PSC members. Dave Blasby probably should be, though I think the paperwork on that fell off the plate some time back, and we just haven’t followed up on it.

For now, Nick has given me admin access and accounts for the rest of the GeoGig team to be able to view/start jobs. That should be fine. I’ve configured the jobs that were moved from ARES and they are all set to work as intended.

Considering the intended purpose of build.geoserver.org, we (the GeoGig team) may need to find a more appropriate place for some of these build jobs.

Many thanks again,

Okay, we do have some sensitive assets on that server used for the release process.

Let’s ask Nick if we can reduce full access to PSC members, and get view/run permission for committers.
