[Geoserver-devel] Requesting Developer Access

I have signed up for a codehaus account (kc7bfi) and am requesting developer access. I have three plugins I would like to contribute to the community pages.
Thanks so much, David Robison

Hi David,

You are now set up with wiki access. Do you require subversion access as
well?

I’ve added a new wiki page to the community modules describing the GetNearest WFS Request Plug-in. I would also be interested in submitting the code to the community SVN. Is this possible? How do I go about doing this?
Thanks, David Robison

Well the first step in getting commit status is submitting a patch and
getting another developer to review it.

Given that you have implemented a new wfs operation i am sure you have
fulfilled this requirement. However it still might be nice if you could
post the code so it can get a review.

So how about this:

1. Create a jira task and attach the code to it:

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS

2. One of us will review it and give the ok.

3. Follow the steps here:

http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOSDOC/1+Getting+Commit+Status

Note that the account is different from your confluence account,
although you can link the two.

I can do this, though I was actually thinking of submitting it as a “community” module. This is what Chris Holmes suggested. Is this possible and how would I go about doing this? Thanks, David

Yeah, I think we can give svn access for just the community modules to people without having to do patch reviews. If they want normal commit rights then we can do a review of their module or some other piece of code.

Alright David,

You should be ready to go and commit your module to the community space.
Remember that you have to check out geoserver with svn "https://" and
not just "http://" or the authentication wont work.

let me know if you have any problems.

One more thing, the parent of my wiki page for the plugin is http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOSDOC/Community which has no parent in the wiki itself. Have I placed the documentation in the correct part of the wiki? Should I like to it somewhere else? Just checking. David
