Hello list,
I wonder if there’s a REST config Java client around that’ll work with recent versions of GeoServer (2.14+).
I found GeoSolution’s geoserver-manager[1] but the last release (1.7.0) is from April 2016 and the README says it targets GeoServer 2.9.x.
If there’s no current option I’d be willing to give it a try.
I had a solution working with Geomanager in September (https://blog.ianturton.com/geoserver/2018/09/11/OS-Zoomstack.html) so probably 2.13ish.

We have not worked much on it lately but we have clients relying on it.
Your mileage may vary depending on which portion of the REST API you
are hitting.
