Paul,
Was wondering if everyone got into the SDE instance ok and it was working for them.

Just tried it out, and was able to connect.
The one little confusing thing was the 'instance' parameter, using 'sde'
turned out to work. So the params for the store in geoserver are:
server: nakina.gis.iastate.edu
port: 5151
instance: sde
user: geoservwrite
password: AxBsde1
(or user geoservread, pass AxBsde2)
One problem that we have, that definitely needs to be addressed before the
testing, is that the ArcSDE feature writer is not yet implemented. So we
can't do inserts. I believe Chris Dillard at polexis was talking about
implementing this? Are you still planning on that? Now that we have a
semi-public instance we can probably help you out some. We can try to get
you subversion access tomorrow at the irc. If you have time it could be
good for you to show up and introduce yourself to the group - see
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/Communication
I believe Gabriel was going to review the patches and roll them in today.
