Hi,
For a project I'd like to execute something like a SELECT INTO-statement using a WFS (Geoserver). I know such a request (let's say CopyFeature 
) is not covered in the WFS-specs, but it could be very useful in my opinion. So my idea is to extend the WFS with a servlet that can be invoked to do a GetFeature-request, parse the returned GML, add some elements and compose and send a Transaction-request (insert the new/copied features) to the WFS. So I was wondering if somebody has experienced this problem as well and maybe has a solution - implementation or what ever that helps a little - I could use too.
