[Geoserver-devel] Shutting down confluence

Hi all,

We would like to shut down the old confluence instance for good soon and start pointing at http://old.geoserver.org/ for the old wiki content. I would ask that we port any active proposals to Github if they are going to continue to undergo change.

Currently that list is potentially:

Proposals Under Discussion

The following proposals are currently being set up and/or voted on.

Active Proposals

These proposals have been accepted, and now include a JIRA number to track their progress

It looks like VirtualCoverage GSIP wasn’t created at the right spot in the hierarchy, but that is included in the list as well.

Thanks.

Hi Justin/Jody,
if it gets put down, how do we recover the old gsips (for the conversion to
the new website?).
Jody is your script working off a xml dump or ... how?

Cheers
Andrea

We can fire it back up on demand if need be. But I wonder... if we have a

static copy of the content permanently hosted here:

  http://old.geoserver.org/GeoServer%20Improvement%20Proposals.html

Do we need to port it all to Github? Or just use Github for new stuff and
point to this page for "Past Proposals"?

Cheers

I was hoping to port them all, but I still haven't had time to look into
Jody's script (not even sure I have a link
for it, hopefully it's in the last meeting minutes).
Jody, what do we need to run the script?

Cheers

While I will wait and see I am a little bit skeptical that Jody has a

magic script that will just work without a lot of hand holding.

I have been in transit and not available via email.

Script is I meeting minuets, you can look st how it calls pandoc to do conversion. Scripy mostly handles moving attachments such as diagrams into the right place.

Frank has some experience if you have questions.

To shut down confluence please gram an expòrt somewhere that we can download first.
