How Geoserver handles font files to point to a specific "font-family"? In
MapServer we can create relationship between files-fontnames in fontset file.
How Geoserver creates that relationships?

Hi Eduin,
Font behaviour can differ accross platforms with Java I have found. However, I beleive the font mappings are contained withing the jvm on your system, and ultimatley fall back onto the "standard" font directories on your system. It is also possible to place font files into your jvm fonts directory to have them picked up.
I am not sure if that answers your question. I guess the answer is that GeoServer handles fonts the same way java awt does.
Any chance you would you be interested in updating the doc?
