[Geoserver-devel] Something broke in our confluence sidebar...

Hi,
am I the only one seeing a misaligned left bar and, more importantly,
not being able to find the edit buttons anymore??? On Geotools
confluence everything is ok...

Cheers
Andrea

I actually asked Jody to change the edit button location since I thought the old location was too obscure. It's now the old style, with a clear 'edit' button as a tab on top, instead of buried under a 'page operations' button.

If people want we can switch it back to the old way, but I know a number of people had trouble figuring out where to edit before.

Ha ha ha... I did not see the tab
But yeah, it's there. Ok, cool, it's ok to have it there too.
Yet, the page layout is broken on both IE and FF, the side bar covers
partly the view/edit/xxx border

Cheers
Andrea

I like it better this way, having the edit buttons on the top tab.

Hi Chris:

I am asking codehaus for permission to fix things up:

We will see if anything comes of it; if not we should get them to reset everything back to the defaults (no navbar).

Think we are confused ... the Navigation page no longer *does* anything ... what you see there is some hard coded html from months ago (and I no longer have permission to change it).

If you look at that page it starts "Home" "Docs" "Dev", but if you look on the right hand side you will only see "Home | Docs"..
Cheers,
Jody

Ah, I'm pickin' up what you're puttin' down...

So here is the issue. When the wiki changed to the old style where we had the edit buttons on the top of the page, it reverted back to the 'default' template. This template has the hard coded navigation bar. The problem here is that we can no longer edit the default template and hence the navigation bar. So we can have either the edit buttons like the old way, or have our proper nav bar. Not both.
There is a bug report for this: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/HAUS-1469
If it cannot be resolved, or not resolved in time, how do we want the page to look?
1) Old edit buttons +bad nav bar
2) Drop down list edit buttons (what we just got rid of) + good nav bar

They have restored my access ...

And asked that I place a google add on the web site ... I will see if I can find a spot as I would like to see them supported
(nothing as crazy as their default layout which obscures content).

Cheers,
Jody
