[Geoserver-devel] Subcribe Geoserver

Why not include geoserver in the list of compliant products of OpenGIS?.

Chris, can yo subcribe geoserver in this list?, i think this step is very
important for geoserver, and geocummunity.

I guess we could email the person who maintains it. The reason I'm a
little hesitant is that I don't really understand the list, as decent
amounts of it seem out of date, and for wfs there is no test suite out
yet. Wfses on the list are just people who 'claim' to conform, based on
their reading of the spec. GeoServer is currently being tested against
what will be the OGC's official WFS test suite, and once that is complete
GeoServer will be known as the reference implementation, as we are the wfs
participant in the Conformance and Interoperability Testing and Evaluation
Initiative (CITE). That project should wrap up in september, and I'm
pretty sure there will be a new site, and the test suite will be
publically available and that will be the test as to what conforms. So
I'm slightly inclined to wait for that. I think it also might be nice to
wait for the 1.0 release of GeoServer, which will be by the end of
september at the latest, as I don't really want to have to update the
compliant product list whenever there's a new point release, or just have
it sit at 0.97 when new releases come out. So that's my current thinking
- keep developing, making it better, and then do a big push for awareness
in september. But if the geoserver community would like to see it up
there now, let the list know, and I can put it up.

This is very cool. I suggest you reference it promenantly on the geoserver
home page somewhere, maybe in the FAQ as well.
