[Geoserver-devel] Update on Quantum GIS documentation

Folks,

I'd like to update the Quantum GIS page on Geoserver.org [1], adding that QGIS now supports WFS as well as WMS and, crucially, that it still doesn't use namespace in requests, hence prompting GeoServer to answer "layer not found".

I'd like to add the simple workaround of using the default namespace of GeoServer when defining layers expected to be queried by QGIS, but, before adding this piece of information, I would like to be sure that there aren't better solutions to this issure, could someone confirm this ?

Regards,

It'd be great to get that page more up to date.

Well, the better solution is to get QGIS to understand namespaces

But yes, as far as I know the best simple work around is to just use the default namespace.

best regards,

Chris

Done, please review it.

That's out of my capabilities, I'm afraid... though it would be nice to let the QGIS team know about this issue: have you already talked to them ?

The only time I tried to talk to the developer of WFS plugin in QGis
I got a "yeah I'll look at the issue" and never heard back since.
I'm not really a QGis user, too.... if you're on their ml, can
you do that in our place?

Cheers
