Has there been any discussion of upgrading the GDAL extension (ideally 1.9)?

Hi,

Gdal 1.10 will probably be ready within a month or two so perhaps updating to 1.9 could be skipped.

The latest version of imageio-ext depends on GDAL 1.9, so that’s what we’re going to get once we
upgrade to it.
1.10… uh, next year?
