Hi,
during FOSS4G David merged into the CSS module a couple of pull requests
of mine adding fuller support for vendor options and solving an issue with color
names, which are being tracked in GeoServer as:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5963
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5984
All that needs to be done to close those issues in GeoServer is to depend on a
more up to date version of the Scala css module.
Wondering if we could setup things so that we don’t need to ask David for every
little thing about the CSS module, in this case, making a new package, deploy it,
and update the GeoServer dependency?
Cheers
Andrea

Hi,
a few more days passed with no response.
I’m leaning towards building the new CSS module myself, deploying it on the OSGeo repo manually, and
upgrade the GeoServer dependencies.
I’ll do that tomorrow if there are no objections
Cheers

Sorry for the slow response. I’ll ping David tomorrow about building out a new version, and as well set up some continuous integration and deploy on ares for it.
In the meantime if you do build and upload the new css jar I’ll dump it into the opengeo repo as well.

Hi,
so I've uploaded a new version of the CSS library here:
http://download.osgeo.org/webdav/geotools/org/geoscript/geocss_2.10/0.8.4-aa/
I've added -aa to avoid version conflicts with whatever David may publish
in the future, and updated the GeoServer dependencies towards it
Cheers

I’d really prefer not to publish snapshots for GeoScript Scala - snapshots already impair the repeatability of GeoServer builds and I don’t want to contribute to it.

Right. For GeoTools it's pretty much unavoidable, we'd have to make a
release every 3 days otherwise, but for CSS scala we can probably make
point releases on a as needed basis, and without having to release the
whole GeoScript Scala.
Speaking of which, would it make sense to have CSS become a stand alone
project? In practice we are two working on it, but I have no plans
on working on the geoscript Scala language (and don't see anybody else work
on it either).
Cheers
