I’m trying to build GeoServer on master today and it claims not to be able to find GeoWebCache jars of 1.14-SNAPSHOT vintage. No problem I thought I’ll update GWC and build that, but GWC master is building 1.13-SNAPSHOT jars.
So my question is which version number is correct?

I’ve reported the same problem yesterday on GeoServer’s Gitter. Torben inquired with Kevin, no response as of yet.
As far as I can see, we are in a un-buildable situation, because master is still claiming version 1.13 right now:

Well, it does build if you knock GeoServer back to 1.13-SNAPSHOT but I don’t want to commit that if GWC should have advanced.

GeoServer is supposed to be on 2.14 now, and depending on GWC 1.14. GWC hasn’t updated its version on master to match this yet.
We had a bit of a process change with the latest beta (branching on the beta rather than the RC), and it appears this got left behind. I believe Kevin is fixing that right now.
