[Geoserver-devel] Volunteers for GeoTools 23.4, GeoWebCache 1.17.4 and GeoServer 2.17.4 need (December 18th)

BTW how much work would it be to make the GWC release work like the others?

Right now the GWC release uses a ruby script which is a bit tricky to run. The key thing it does which is unusual is open an editor asking the person making the release to update the release notes. If we skipped this step (editing the release notes before hand) release jobs could probably be setup on jenkins.

Indeed we could grep the release notes to ensure they have been edited as part of a release job to prevent mistake.
