[Geoserver-devel] WCS Custom Dimension AxisLabels

Hello Geoserver-devel,

Hopefully easy question today, I'm publishing a number of layers with a custom dimension. Problem is, I can't figure out how to get the custom dimension to be set as a valid axisLabel so I can query using it with WCS 2.0.1. I assume it's something I need to do when publishing the layers, but I can't find info on when/how to do it. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Hi,

what do you mean with “valid axisLabel”?

Supposing you have a custom dimension named “WAVELENGTH”, you can find it in the WCS2.0.1 describeCoverage response,

in the
gmlcov:metadata
gmlcov:Extension

<wcsgs:DimensionDomain name=“WAVELENGTH” default=“453”>…

Therefore, you can send a GetCoverage request using that dimension in subsetting using slicing.

As an instance:

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wcs?request=GetCoverage&service=WCS&version=2.0.1&coverageId=geosolutions__NO2&Format=image/tiff&subset=http://www.opengis.net/def/axis/OGC/0/Long(-116,-115.8)&subset=http://www.opengis.net/def/axis/OGC/0/Lat(32.5,32.9)**&**subset=WAVELENGTH(543)
