Since the OGC recently published the new specs for WFS (1.1.0) and FES (1.1.0) I was wondering what Geoserver's plans are for implementing these specs. In Jira I noticed that the sortBy element is planned for 1.5, but what about e.g. gml 3.1.1 output and other changes/additions in the WFS specs?

No immediate plans, I'm still waiting to find the time to do a review of
the new spec, figure out how hard it will be for us to support.
Hopefully the ogc will update the cite tests and we can continue to be
the reference implementation. But being spec compliant and supporting
open standards is probably our number one concern, so it will get in,
when we have a chance.
