Hi,
maybe some of you have notice this issue:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-1396
Now, I have the fix, but it bring in a little... complication.
By adding those jars the download size goes up by 1.3MB.
I'm also wondering who's using the current SVG output.
The total batik jars are 0.6MB now, so the total SVG stuff
we would be carrying around would reach 1.9MB.
Do we increase the download size, or do we split out an "SVG pack"
as an extra download?
Pro and cons are pretty obvious, SVG as a separate download will
mean more checks (preview, is SVG around?) and the likeliness
that people will overlook svg completely...
Opinions?
Cheers
Andrea
tough question.
I'd lean towards having full SVG support, but then again I'm not
particularly large-download-file sensitive.
Perhaps it would be easier to have something like a 'geoserver-lite' that
had lots of non-essential bits stripped out, than to have to add extra bits
to the default install.
