[Geoserver-users] 1.4M1/Oracle [Sec=Unclassified]

Hi all,

I've been trying to get 1.4M1 going. I may have missed something if
there are any new things to take into consideration when installing it,
but have looked and found nothing related.

I deploy the war file, then add ojdbc14.jar and gt2-oracle-spatial.jar
to the WEB-INF/lib directory.

I then start the server, but the oracle datastore isn't available, and
so when I point to my existing configuration files it breaks.

I've tried every combination of including or excluding the above files.

I've tried deploying the war file under JRun4 and Tomcat with the same
result.

When I remove 1.4M1 and put 1.3.3 on again (and the above jar files) it
works again.

Is there a bug here?

Thanks

Miles

Hi Miles,

I tried both the binary release and the war ( with tomcat ) and i was
able to pick up the oracle data store when i dropped the appropriate
jars in. Do you get any exceptions when restarting the server or
anything? Perhaps you can include the startup log.

Hmmmm... It should work. But 1.4-M1 is still a bit rough. How about you wait till the next release, and then we can work together and debug it, and try to do some testing on our end too.

best regards,

Chris
