We recently upgraded our Weblogic server to 12.2.1 and it broke the old
Geoserver 2.1.3 installation, yes I know if was really old. In prep for the
new Weblogic install we blew all the old Java away and loaded 1.8.0_92. So
after the Weblogic was done I downloaded the 2.0 installer along with the
required oracle plugin in prep to upgrade our old Geoserver.
So I stop the current geoserver service, rename the old directory and kick
off the new installer running as administrator. "This installer is not
supported on Windows 9x/ME". Obviously the installer is seeing something it
does not like. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why?
Looking at the installer script, I have the impression the code had issues
getting the current user name... (mind, I had no involvement in the windows
installer, I just had a quick look at the NSIS script but I would not know
how to fix it or why it's happening on your system):
