I would like to have access to webspace to set up a mapping website.
I want therefore to be able to install Apache, Apache Tomcat, Geoserver et
al.
Does anybody have any advice on a company which provides this service at a
reasonable cost? Most seem to have a set software suite installed.

Are you sure you need Apache?
Unfortunately I don't much real experience, since I always went for local Italian providers giving me a dedicated server with admin rights,
but companies providing jsp support should be good if you go with Tomcat only. I've heard people speaking about LunarPages, which should be cheap too, and provides jsp hosting on Resin (not sure anybody among us ever
tried out deploying on Resin thought).
Well, not much of an help, but better than nothing I guess :-p
