Is there a way to add an Open Street Map rastered tile source to
geoserver? I have my own tile server that serves up tiles using their
slippy map format /Z/X/Y.png.
How about a WMS endpoint?
You may be able to adapt the stand aline GeoWebCache codebase - it also provides a z/x/y service … and wraps a WMS service on top (stitching together tiles and scaling as needed).
