[Geoserver-users] After I restart my server then an existing "Postgis" datastore has the enable checkbox unchecked

Hi,

After I restart my server then an existing "Postgis" datastore has the
enable checkbox unchecked. I then have to check the enable checkbox,
"submit", "apply" and "save" in order to view my data. Note: this is
only a problem after restarting the server. How can I fix this issue?

Thanks,

Which version of geoserver are you using so I can try and replicate the issue.
I haven't encountered this problem yet so it will take some experimenting.

I have a setup where Geoserver is on different machine than postgres.....and
when both machines went down, the GS machine restarted first, and all the
datastores had the enabled box unchecked. Once I checked them and restarted
Tomcat, everything ran fine. I guess if GS and postgres are on the same
machine and GS restarts first, could that have the same effect?

Steve,

That is my suspision but it appears that geoserver as a default
installation does not have an entry within the listed services like
Postgres and Tomcat does. Because Postgres needs to come up before
Tomcat I have added a "new string value" within regedit for the Apache
Tomcat service which forces tomcat to wait until pgsql-8.0 has been
loaded. I would like to a similar thing with geoserver so that it
does not come up until postgres has been loaded.

FYI,

See: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-370 for a way to run
Geoserver as a service
