[Geoserver-users] any examples of GraphicStroke to share?

In July I wrote complaining about GeoServer and graphics along a line.
I retract my complaint, after some more experimentation I think GeoServer does just fine with this.
I think my graphic before was poorly drawn and perhaps too small.
This is the type of request I am working with:

sld:Formatimage/gif</sld:Format>
</sld:ExternalGraphic>
sld:Size19</sld:Size>
</sld:Graphic>
</sld:GraphicStroke>

I think this is the result:
http://geoserver.org/display/GEOSDOC/SLD+Snippets#SLDSnippets-Showexternalgraphicalongaline.

But I can't find how to set the gap between the symbols along the line and
the transparent areas seem to "delete" earlier drawn symbols. I tried it
with a transparent png and a svg.
