Has anyone got an example of the Geoserver app-schema configuration for converting X and Y columns in a database to gml:Point values using the toPoint function (http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/data/app-schema/cql-functions.html)?

Hi Bruce,
had some troubles deciphering the docs myself, but in the end I figured it out.
I created a sample table in my PostGIS database:
CREATE TABLE to_point_example
(
gid serial NOT NULL,
x double precision,
y double precision,
CONSTRAINT to_point_example_pkey PRIMARY KEY (gid)
)
X and Y are actually geographic coordinates (lon, lat).
Then I mapped it like this:
lcv:geometry toPoint('SRS_NAME', 'EPSG:4326', x, y, strConcat('gid.', gid))Outcome:
lcv:geometry
<gml:Point gml:id=“gid.1” srsDimension=“2”>
gml:pos10.783324 44.735883</gml:pos>
</gml:Point>
</lcv:geometry>
