Good afternoon!

Trying to install Geoserver on appfog.com, appfog has 2GB RAM and
tomcat6, JRE 1.7
Support wrote me:
"try modifying the soft java ulimit in the start command of your app,
our system ulimits are far higher that any application can handle on
there own."

I have a lot of "Too many open files"
Could you please take a look at it?

Hi Viktor,

A) try modifying the soft java ulimit in the start command of your
app, our system ulimits are far higher that any application can
handle on there own.

B) The zipit tool was written as a quick and dirty way for PHP users
to collect data from PHP Fog and other PHP servers. There is no
Java solution provided by appfog.

A)
After setting up a 1 instance/2 GB java app: Geoserver
it makes "Too many open files" errors:
/var/vcap.local/dea/apps/thegeoserver-0-e7605012b22bcb478da4379335b5af80/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/data/logs/geoserver.log (Too many

files)

How can I set ulimit higher?

I've read I have to write/use a function to save live filesystem.
There is an zipit in PHP.
Is there a Java solution?
