I currently am using Geoserver 1.7.2 on Windows Server 2003.
I was able to get the following url to return data as a network link in
Google.
http://<server>.ca:80/geoserver172/wms?service=WMS&version=1.0.0&request=GetMap&format=application/vnd.google-earth.kml+XML&width=500&height=500&srs=EPSG:4326&layers=sde:bath7m&styles=Bathymetry&bbox=-180.0,0.0,-90.0,90.0
However the equivalent url -
http://<server>.ca/geoserver172/wms/kml?layers=sde:bath7m does not seem to
work as expected. (sde source)
Although this one does work..
http://<server>.ca/geoserver172/wms/kml?layers=sf:archsites (shapefile
source)
Error that seems to be occurring:
16:56:00,841 INFO [geoserver.action] - setting session and user ftConfig to
: FeatureTypeConfig[name: WHSE_BASEMAPPING.DBM_BC_7H_MIL_BATHYMETRC_POLY

Any idea as to what I am not doing right here?
Has anyone else had issues with SDE -> KML Reflector in Geoserver 1.7.2?
Many thanks!

Hi Michelle,
I am not sure the error below is the relevant error. That error seems to be originating from user interface access... which a call to kml is not. Are there any other errors in the log?
Also can you try the following url:
http://<server>.ca/geoserver172/wms/kml?layers=sde:bath7m&mode=refresh
It access the reflector in a different mode. It could be the default mode (regionating) that is the problem.
Thanks,
-Justin

Justin,
It looks like it does work with &mode=refresh option (This is with a polygon
layer).
Point SDE data seemed to work ok in the regionating mode.
I don't seem to get an error in the log when opening the URL in Google
Earth.
The layer icon spins as if refreshing in GE and then it eventually stops
with know features returned.
The verbose logging seems to do this over and over when trying the
regionating approach for the polygon layer..
