I have a geowebcache of for an entire country for 20 zoom level have more than 85 Laksh tiles which is saved in C drive ,I need to move the same file into another system with minimum downtime , traditional copy and paste method take more than 2 days and Re caching is also not possible , is there any way to do that using any specific tool

Slightly out of scope of the list (probably better asked on serverfault.com), but I suspect something rsync based will probably do what you wish.

Cheers,

Jonathan

Hi,

Another idea you might consider is shared folders:

Share the folder from the ORIGIN server C:\

···
Set up the environment variable/web.xml configuration parameter for GEOWEBCACHE_CACHE_DIR on DESTINATION server to point at ORIGIN\SHARED_FOLDER
Restart GeoServer/GeoWebcache

On DESTINATION server/drive, create a folder to store the cached tiles
Copy the tiles from ORIGIN server to DESTINATION; Use CMD prompt window or a comparison tool; I have had excellent experience with Beyond Compare, which also allows me to see what files are missing from DESTINATION and to copy blocks of files at a time. Or, simply tell it to copy everything, minimize the window and go about my business.

Once the files are copied to DESTINATION, update the environment variable/web.xml configuration parameter for GEOWEBCACHE_CACHE_DIR to point at DESTINATION folder
Restart GeoServer/GeoWebcache
