Im new here. IM following the tutorials. to continue with it i need to download the following data sets but the datasets links are not working. can some one post a proper link

As we are still working out some kinks in Sphinx, these files were not
automatically included in the HTML output. For the time being, you can
fetch them from the documentation sources in SVN:
http://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/tags/1.7.4/doc/user/source/
The zip files you mentioned are at
http://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/tags/1.7.4/doc/user/source/getting-started/shapefile-quickstart/nyc_roads.zip
and
http://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/tags/1.7.4/doc/user/source/getting-started/postgis-quickstart/nyc_buildings.zip
respectively.
