[Geoserver-users] Configure for GeoServer for failover

Can GeoServer be configured to have a primary and secondary ArcSDE datastore for failover?

Not that I am aware of, but there are many TCP proxies that offer this functionality more or less transparently, so it should be easy to achieve this for read-only resources even if there is no native support.

Hi Gregory,

to simply use an alternate sde instance if the primary one fails I guess you
could explore Arne's suggestion.
I doubt, though might well be wrong, that ArcSDE has any kind of replication
itself. Guess that'd be the backend database business...

Yet, I'm interested in hearing a bit more of your use case, if you could
explain what you're trying to achieve. May be it wouldn't be that difficult
to develop.

Cheers,

Gabriel
